Man City slap £10m price tag on Sunderland target Stephen Ireland

Manchester City want a stunning £10 million for Stephen Ireland - as Steve Bruce's Sunderland make a move for the former Republic of Ireland midfielder.
Bruce is keen on talented Ireland to fill the gap left by Lorik Cana's move to Galatasaray, but City want a super fee for the player dubbed Superman by the fans.
Ireland is interesting in moving if his chances are limited again this season, but City's valuation is putting off the Black Cats who would have to sell before they could afford him.
The price tag is also cooling the interest of Aston Villa who could take Ireland in a swap exchange for James Milner. However Martin O'Neill does not value the Irishman in that class either.
