SIR ALEX FERGUSON has revealed Ashley Young will be out for several weeks after picking up an injury in Manchester United's 5-0 win at Fulham.
Young, a first-half substitute for Phil Jones at Craven Cottage, limped off after coming off worse in a second-half collision and Ferguson said he could be out until late January.
"Ashley was tripped as he went into the next tackle," said Ferguson.
"He wasn’t positioned to go into a tackle, he was half falling at the time so the second tackle was a real clump and a hard tackle.
"It wasn’t a bad tackle, it was just the way he went into it, he was half falling and he’s taken a real clump and he’s got a knee injury that will keep him out for a few weeks.
"We’re still waiting for some of the bleeding to go away, which is quite extensive at the moment. That was a sore one so he’ll be out for a few weeks.
"We have good news on Phil Jones thankfully. He should be okay for Monday [against Wigan at Old Trafford]. There’s a bit of swelling in his jaw but no break, no fracture, which is good news.
"But it's not brilliant news about the other ones, Michael Owen, Tom Cleverley and Anderson are still on the injury list.
"We made Rafael Da Silva a sub the other night, but he’s not played any games. He played for the reserves and that’s going
to help him. Fabio [Da Silva] has still to get into that part of his comeback."
Ferguson, who also has skipper Nemanja Vidic out for the rest of the season, said: "As we get one back, we lost another one so it’s not an easy spell for us, but we just have to get on with it.
"The squad at the moment has handled the situation quite well and their form has bene really good so I’m pleased with that."
