McCann only absentee for Alloa Third Division leaders Alloa are missing only midfielder Ryan McCann through suspension for the visit of ever-improving Peterhead to Recreation Park.

The Wasps had to dig deep to earn their fifth win in a row on Saturday with two late goals seeing off Montrose and manager Paul Hartley has asked his players to keep on with the same level of endeavour.

He said: "We did not play at our best against Montrose but the boys stuck at it and they got their reward.

"We need to apply ourselves in the same manner if we are to take anything from this game." "Peterhead have improved greatly under Jim McInally and we will be facing a team full of confidence but we are raring to go." Peterhead will be at full strength with centre-back Scott Ross returning after a ban and he looks set to reclaim his starting place.

Blue Toon boss Jim McInally is asking his men to show how much they have improved recently by taking the game to their hosts.

He said: "I am sure we will be a handful for Alloa and we are looking forward to going to their place a lot more than we would have been just over a month ago.

"During that time we have moved from bottom spot to seventh place and we have won five out of our last six games.

Alloa ease past Peterhead Alloa moved further clear at the top of Division Three courtesy of a comfortable 3-1 victory over Peterhead.

Playing with confidence from the off, Athletic took the lead in the 13th minute when Graeme Holmes found Ben Gordon, who produced a neat finish.

The visitors impressed thereafter, though, and levelled things up 10 minutes before half-time through Rory McAllister's sensational 30-yard strike.

However, being on level terms did not last too long as Mark Docherty put the hosts back in front a minute later with an impressive finish.

Any hopes Peterhead had of restoring parity once more all-but evaporated midway through the second period as the hosts grabbed another.
