Tykes wait on Dickinson Barnsley will continue to assess the fitness of Carl Dickinson for the visit of QPR.
The on-loan Stoke defender returned to training this week following a knee injury and the Tykes' medical staff will continue to monitor his fitness before making a decision on his availability.
Striker Daniel Bogdanovic, who this week turned down an offer of a new contract at Oakwell, is unlikely to feature due to a hamstring strain.
Midfielder Anderson de Silva is also unlikely to play any part against the Rs as he continues his recovery from a thigh problem.
On-loan midfielder Emil Hallfredsson, who broke his foot two weeks ago, is unavailable for selection after returning to parent club Reggina.
The Tykes will be looking to halt a run of eight league games without a win.
QPR will check on the fitness Adel Taarabt, Akos Buzsaky and Alejandro Faurlin.
Tottenham loanee Taarabt came off during the first half of Tuesday night's win over Watford with a heel injury and fellow midfielder Buzsaky also had to be replaced after taking a whack to the ribs late on.
Argentinian playmaker Faurlin was struggling with a dead leg at the end, by which time Rangers had used all three of their substitutes.
Boss Neil Warnock was pondering whether to give the club's youngsters a chance as both teams have little riding on the match and now he may have no other option as the casualty list grows.
Defenders Damion Stewart (fractured skull) and Matt Connolly (ankle) and midfielders Martin Rowlands and Gavin Mahon (both knee) are all out for the season.

Daily Mirror match report
Kaspars Gorkss believes Neil Warnock can give QPR the confidence they need to claim promotion next season.
Mikele Leigertwood struck a stunning first-half goal to give QPR the three points against Barnsley and give them their third win in four games to continue a strong finish to a poor season.
At the start of the season QPR were one of the favourites to make the play-offs, but they failed to deliver with a number of problems on and off the field.
Warnock is the third manager to be in charge at Loftus Road this season and it hasn’t been easy on the players but Gorkss hopes the former Crystal Palace boss will help them achieve promotion.
He said: "I think we are now looking at the future, it has been a hard season, we have to look to the future and hopefully get some good stability and good results for next season.
"Promotion will obviously be our goal but I don’t think we are pressured. The only pressure we are under is from ourselves and our disappointment when we don’t perform.
"Since Warnock arrived we have started to keep clean sheets, get results and show a lot more character.
"He is very charismatic and he has brought a lot of confidence back into the players and you can see that on the pitch."
However, Warnock will be looking to make some changes to his squad as he looks to bolster his attacking options in a bid to reach the Premier League.
He said: "I can’t wait for the summer to bring some of my players in as we have too many loan players here at the moment.
"We are just a bit missing up front and I want to spend most of my summer trying to find a striker and forward.
The QPR boss also believes next season will be a much closer season at the top without the two big clubs of Newcastle and West Brom who have comfortable gained promotion.
"I think it is going to be a very exciting season. It’s not very often that you’re on an equal playing field and next year it will decide who is the best manager too."
In a game of few chances and both teams having nothing to play for, Leigertwood’s 27th minute strike adding something special to the occasion.
Hogan Ephraim slid the ball inside to the defender who smashed the ball off the underside of the bar and into the goal to make the trip worthwhile for the travelling support.
"I think after having a frustrating season like we have had then you want to finish on a high and win as many games as possible," explained Gorkss.
"I think it showed the character in the team that we have to have the ability to get motivated for a game like this."
Tykes boss Mark Robins is also hopeful of adding to his squad but is less confident about keeping leading-scorer Daniel Bogdanovic whose contract expires at the end of the season.
“We’ve reached our limit. We cannot go beyond that now so Daniel either moves on or he sits down again with us," explained Robins.
"There will be a lot of players out of contract at the end of the season and there is certainly one or two that I have got my eye on."
