                                                    Team news

Worries for Robins Barnsley manager Mark Robins has more injury problems to contend with for Monday's home clash with bottom club Peterborough.

Midfielder Emil Hallfredsson was forced out of Saturday's goalless draw at Shefffield United with an ankle injury and is doubtful, so Anderson De Silva could return to the starting line-up.

Robins will again be without suspended central defender Ryan Shotton, who sits out the second game of his two-match ban after reaching 10 bookings. Darren Moore will continue in his absence.

Striker Daniel Bogdanovic (hamstring), midfielder Filipe Teixeira (abdominal strain) and defenders Bobby Hassell and Rob Kozluk were all unavailable on Saturday due to injury and are not expected to feature against Peterborough.

Striker Jon Macken is pushing for a return to the starting line-up after making way for Andy Gray, who partnered Iain Hume up front at Bramall Lane.

Barnsley are chasing their first league win in six matches.

Peterborough could hand Ryan Bennett a start in what could be Jim Gannon`s last game in charge.

Posh`s inevitable relegation looks set to be confirmed at Oakwell unless they win and Watford lose at home to West Brom, while Gary Johnson is poised to be named as the new manager at London Road in the coming days.

Record signing Bennett missed eight games with an ankle injury but returned as a second-half substitute during the 3-2 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday and could return at the back.

Winger Chris Whelpdale could miss the remainder of the campaign after injuring his ankle in the 1-0 defeat to Bristol City last Saturday while on-loan Wolves full-back Mark Little has a hamstring injury.

                                                    Daily Mirror match report

Jim Gannon failed to inspire Peterborough to victory in his final game in charge as Posh were condemned to an instant return to League One.

Gary Johnson is poised to be installed as their new manager on Tuesday after Gannon rejected the post on a long-term basis.

The former Stockport boss will leave the club without securing a win in his brief tenure, though it looked likely before Iain Hume struck late on to deny him.

A proud Gannon said: "The lads really showed that they came here to go down with a fight and to show the quality that they had.

"Under Gary's guidance they have every chance of promotion next year."

Posh showed plenty of character to suggest they could bounce straight back.

Ryan Bennett's shot on the turn put the visitors ahead after five minutes, but Barnsley levelled two minutes later when Hume's effort went in off the post.

Tommy Rowe put Peterborough back in front with a thumping low drive, but they were denied victory when Hume beat 'keeper James McKeown to the ball to stab into an empty net to secure a point for the Tykes'.

Barnsley boss Mark Robins said: "It was a good point because we had to come back twice. The overriding emotion is one of relief because we were a little leggy out there."
