Brewers hope for triple boost Burton could have three players back in contention for the visit of Gillingham.

The postponement of last weekend's game at Swindon has given leading scorer Billy Kee, fellow striker Justin Richards and defender Tony James more time to recover from the injuries that have kept them on the sidelines recently.

Twelve-goal striker Kee, who rejected a move to npower League Two rivals Crawley at the end of last month, has missed the last four matches with a groin problem. James has missed the last two games due to a knee injury.

Both players have resumed training along with Richards and have a good chance of coming back into the reckoning.

Richards is the least likely of the trio to be involved but he could be included in the squad if the ankle he injured in the build up to the Oxford game 12 days ago responds to treatment.

On-loan Swansea midfielder Lee Lucas and the versatile Aaron Webster are unavailable after suffering hamstring injuries at the end of last month but former Derby defender Chris Riggott might be added to the squad after signing a deal until the end of the season.

Jack Payne and Charlie Lee have failed to recover in time for Gillingham.

Midfielder Payne and full-back Lee both sustained ankle injuries in the 4-3 defeat at Accrington two weeks ago and, despite the postponement of last Saturday's clash against Hereford, the pair still need more time to recover.

Defenders Simon King and Matt Fish also continue to be sidelined with ankle injuries of their own.

But manager Andy Hessenthaler is able to call upon midfielder Chris Whelpdale following his knee troubles, while defender Matt Lawrence is also fit for selection.
