Loan man Russell ruled out Darel Russell remains Charlton's only absentee for the visit of MK Dons.

The on-loan Preston midfielder is still waiting to serve the final game of a three-match ban, for his sending-off against Sheffield United last month, after the Addicks' last two fixtures fell victim to the weather.

Top scorer Bradley Wright-Phillips should return to the squad after he was rested for the 1-1 draw against Bury in Charlton's last outing.

Manager Chris Powell instead gave Leon Clarke his full debut while another January signing, Danny Haynes, came on as a substitute.

Midfielder Dale Stephens came through his first 90 minutes since October against Bury after recovering from an ankle injury and should keep his place after hitting the late equaliser.

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson could name an unchanged side against leaders Charlton.

Dons saw their home game against Bury on Saturday postponed, but Robinson was poised to name the same team that started the 1-1 draw against Huddersfield the previous weekend.

On-loan Newcastle defender James Tavernier impressed on his debut at the Galpharm Stadium and will keep his place in the side.

Darren Potter returned from illness in West Yorkshire and the midfielder suffered no ill-effects after completing the full 90 minutes.

Jackson punishes 10-man Dons A pair of first-half Johnnie Jackson penalties earned leaders Charlton a 2-1 home win over 10-man MK Dons.

Ben Hamer made a smart reaction save to keep out Alan Smith's 36th-minute header, but it was Charlton who broke the deadlock two minutes before half-time in controversial circumstances.

Chris Solly's powerful drive was hacked away by the visiting defence, but as the Dons tried to clear their lines, there was a clash between Yann Kermorgant and Gary MacKenzie.

MacKenzie appeared to push his head forwards towards the Charlton striker's face and the offence earned him a straight red card, as well as gifting the home side a penalty, which was coolly despatched by Jackson.

And it was Jackson who won the Addicks' second spot kick in first-half stoppage time after he was sent to ground just inside the area by Luke Chadwick. The Charlton captain was quickly on his feet and this time smashed his powerful shot into the bottom right corner to put the hosts in command at the break.

Bradley Wright-Phillips should have added a third midway through the second half but he fired wildly off target from 15 yards before Dean Bowditch pulled one back in the 87th minute to set up a tense finish.
