Duo in line for debuts Second Division leaders Cowdenbeath have added Hamilton striker Derek Lyle and Clyde's Liam Cusack to their squad ahead of the clash with Airdrie.

The duo are in line to start against the Diamonds as Greg Stewart has been ruled out with an ankle knock and Mark Ramsay and Jon Robertson are struggling with injuries.

Manager Colin Cameron also reported that Scott Linton has been affected by tonsillitis while Joe Mbu, Marc McKenzie and Lewis Coult are all facing fitness tests.

Cameron said: "I am delighted to have added the two guys, especially as we could be a bit short of bodies.

"We did well against Hibs in the cup last week but we are out and that means the league is what everything is all about now." Airdrie will be without winger Graeme Owens through injury.

Goalkeeper Paul McKane has been released from his contract with the Diamonds.

Airdrie are looking to make up for a 5-1 defeat the last time the sides met, with manager Jimmy Boyle saying: "Cowdenbeath are top of the league and deservedly so.

"They have also strengthened their pool this week with a couple of strikers so they are quite formidable opponents.

Blue Brazil are summit special Cowdenbeath stretched their lead at the top of the Division Two table to eight points after a comfortable 2-0 win over Airdrie.

The home side picked up the momentum gained from their battling 3-2 cup defeat to Hibernian, with Lewis Coult engineering some space in the box but firing straight at Connor Fairley.

Marc McKenzie broke the deadlock with half-time approaching, slotting into the bottom corner from six yards.

Airdrie went into the match as the division's top scorers, but Thomas Flynn was a mere spectator in the Cowdenbeath goal.
