Derby boss Nigel Clough has had his injury worries eased ahead of the visit of Plymouth to Pride Park.

Striker Rob Hulse made his first start of the season following groin surgery at Blackpool in midweek and he showed no reaction so will again lead the line, while Kris Commons has overcome a niggle picked up at Bloomfield Road.

Steve Davies has fully recovered from a hamstring strain and has been declared fit, so Clough must now decide whether to start the midfielder or use him from the bench. Paul Green could also be involved despite a foot injury.

Jake Livermore is also available after completing his suspension carried over from his parent club Tottenham but Giles Barnes and Chris Porter remain sidelined.

New signing Medi Abalimba, who joined from Southend on Thursday, will not be involved.

Plymouth are set to be without on-loan Celtic striker Cillian Sheridan.

Sheridan, 20, suffered a thigh injury in the 3-1 home defeat by Cardiff on Tuesday night and was substituted after 25 minutes.

His replacement, fellow new signing Alan Gow, celebrated his debut with Argyle's late consolation goal from a 90th minute penalty to cap an impressive first appearance for Paul Sturrock's side.

Sturrock is set to make changes to his side following their midweek defeat and could call up new central defender Reda Johnson.

                                                                                        Match predictor

Miles Addison has developed a taste for goals after already bagging two this season. Now Derby’s big young defender has set himself a target of at least one every month.

That might seem like a tall order for a player who previously had only one league and one FA Cup goal to his name. But Addison, 20, reckons it can be done.

The former Rams trainee saw off Plymouth with an 89th minute header, and said: “A goal every month or every four games is something I should be achieving.

“I go up for every corner and most free-kicks and I’ve got to make more of those chances .

“I’d gone in for all the corners and not one went near me. So I decided to nip round the back and luckily the ball came through.

“We didn’t make enough chances during the game and we were lucky to get the late goal, although overall we deserved to win.”

Addison’s centre-back partner Jake Buxton levelled with his first goal for the club since his summer move from Burton Albion after giving away the penalty from which Alan Judge fired Argyle into an early lead.

Rams boss Nigel Clough will be relieved his defenders are finding the target as his strikers continue to fire blanks.

Last season’s 18-goal top scorer Rob Hulse is still struggling for fitness after a groin injury, although Addison revealed Hulse’s declaration of loyalty to the club amid reports of a £5million bid from Championship rivals Middlesbrough had given everyone a lift.

Addison said: “I think Rob realises how big this club is and how it could take off and I think he wants to be a part of it.

“That’s great news for us because we saw last season how important he can be for us.

“He struggled a bit at the start but once he settled in his confidence grew and he started banging in the goals.

“It’s all about confidence and if we can get him fully fit again he will be a major part of our team. At home we believe we can take on anyone in this league.”

Fellow scorer Buxton, meanwhile, was delighted to hit the target to cancel out his earlier error.

He said: “I felt like I’d let people down by giving the penalty away. I don’t want to do that too often.

“To then go and score at least did my confidence a power of good and I had a better second-half.”

Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock wants to sign two players before the end of the transfer window.

He said: “I think we are a better side than we were last year. But there are two positions I need to strengthen big-time.

“Once we get more pace into the team we will be resilient and harder to beat.”.
