                                                    Team news

Tonge worry for Rams Defender Dean Leacock and midfielder Michael Tonge are doubts for Derby ahead of the visit of Ipswich.

Leacock was forced off at half-time in the 1-0 win over Coventry with a knee injury, while a calf problem saw Tonge substituted with three minutes remaining at the Ricoh Arena.

Nicky Hunt and Steve Davies are pushing for recalls should the duo not be fit in time.

Kris Commons is close to a return but this game will come too soon for the Scotland international.

Commons suffered a hamstring injury against Swansea in February and it was hoped he would be back in contention by now. However, Rams boss Nigel Clough is hopeful the forward could be available for the trip to Barnsley next weekend.

Ipswich manager Roy Keane has no fresh injury worries.

Keane saw his side return to winning ways with a 2-1 win over Reading on Saturday and is likely to select from the same squad at Pride Park.

However with two games in 48 hours Keane may choose to freshen up his starting XI, so the likes of Shane O`Connor, Owen Garvan, Liam Rosenior, Carlos Edwards, Pablo Counago and Connor Wickham all come into the reckoning.

Goalkeeper Richard Wright could also be among the replacements.

Wright has been out of action since injuring his knee in November but stepped up his comeback with an appearance for the reserves last week.

                                                    Daily Mirror match report

Nigel Clough admitted using industrial strength language as he was run over by Tractor Boy Connor Wickham.

Clough was sent to the stand by referee Jon Moss for 'foul and abusive language' and midfielder Stephen Pearson saw red for the same offence - as Wickham stole the show at Pride Park.

Clough now faces a rap on the knuckles from the FA for his comments made to the fourth official as Derby's five game unbeaten run ended in disgrace.

"The referee asked me to repeat something. I did. I asked him if he was sending me off for that and he would not answer me. Then I had to move because he wanted me to sit higher," said Clough.

"A stand is a stand. Did I swear? Quite possibly. I did not kick him. Pearson was sent off for something he said, too. Even though he did not say it directly to the referee."

Wickham only turned 17 last week, when he signed his first pro contract, and he celebrated in style with a brilliant solo goal in stoppage time, as well as setting up Ipswich's second goal for Carlos Edwards.

The giant wonderkid showed just why so many Premier League big guns wanted to sign him and Ipswich boss Keane is delighted he is staying at Portman Road.

"He is so big and mature for his age. We will have to check his passport again. He has got a real chance," said Keane.

"It has not been a bad week for him. He has signed his contract and now he can put that to bed and he has got a goal.

"He was up against two really experienced central defenders. Defenders will kick lumps out of him, but he enjoys that side of the game.

"He nailed a couple of central defenders the other week. Strikers are allowed to tackle too you know.'

Rob Hulse gave Derby hope after Edwards had added to Gareth McAuley's fourth minute tap-in - but Wickham had the final say to give Clough even more reason to turn the air blue.
