Eric Paton and Gary Harkins are back in training after recovering from flu while goalkeeper Tony Bullock should also be available come the weekend having missed Thursday's session due to a cold.

Maros Klimpl is back at Dens after knee surgery and, while it is less that a week since he went under the knife, the Slovakian is now in a position to start his rehab. Scott is already without defender David Cowan (groin) for three months while Rab Douglas is still out.

The Dundee boss said: "This is a big, big match for us. We have been playing quite well and we are actually 10 points better off at this stage of the season than we were last year.

"If we can continue doing what we have been doing then we should be in a great situation when the league is decided. But Airdrie took a lot of points off us last season and helped prevent Dundee from putting in a better challenge to St Johnstone.

"So I have been stressing to the players that this can't happen again on Saturday." Kenny Black has backed his struggling Airdrie side to build on their form now that their long wait for a win is over.

The Diamonds will travel to second-placed Dundee full of confidence after a 3-1 victory over Ayr last weekend - their first of the campaign.

And Black, who has no new selection problems, said: "The players have come through some difficult times and there was a huge sense of relief on Saturday. We have been through a lot since the opening day of the season but now we are off the bottom of the table and just two points behind Morton.

"Dundee are the best opponents we could have this weekend and I am sure they will be the first team punters will be taking on their coupons.

"But we took four points out of a possible six at Dens Park last season and we also drew with them here in August.

However, they were made to fight all the way for this victory and they left the field to relief and jeers from their fans.

However, it was the visitors who stunned the Dees in the 25th minute when John Baird drove home from 12 yards.

A Sean Higgins double ensured the Dens Park side fought back to claim three points.
