Buchanan: No pressure Striker Liam Buchanan has denied Dunfermline's bid for a first home win of the season has prayed on the players' minds and is optimistic the search can be ended against Rangers.
The Clydesdale Bank Premier League's bottom club are seeking to improve on the 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock and dent Rangers' title bid by claiming three points at East End Park for the first time this term.
Buchanan said: "Every game at home now is an opportunity to get points on the board and to get that elusive home win.
"We're all working hard to try to put it right. I don't think it weighs on your mind, it's more of a fact it's an issue and everybody's asking us.
"I don't think it's affecting us, I don't think it's putting any more pressure on us.
"It's not good enough, but we'll need to keep working hard and hopefully we can put it right come Saturday." Buchanan was on target in the 3-0 win at Kilmarnock last month - the Pars' only win in 15 games entering the Rangers clash.
Dunfermline have five points from 12 home games this term and four away wins, but Buchanan is confident he can help the home hoodoo end against Rangers.
"Every game you've got to give your all and do as well as you can do," he said.
"It will be no different on Saturday. We're up against quality opposition but we just need to approach every game like we have been and hopefully we can get something out of the game.
"Hopefully we can great chances and I can get on the end of them." On-loan midfielder Kyle Hutton is absent as the Pars take on his parent club.
Hutton made his debut in the midweek draw with Kilmarnock, so Pars boss Jim McIntyre must make at least one change, but it is likely to be too soon for captain Austin McCann to start.
Iain Turner could return in goal after missing the Killie clash with a back spasm in the warm up, but long-term absentees Paul Gallacher, Nick Phinn and Steven Bell remain out.
Meanwhile, Rangers manager Ally McCoist has told his players they must keep the pressure on Celtic in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League title race as they aim to keep alive their hopes of silverware this season.
The Light Blues are out of every other competition following their exit from the William Hill Scottish Cup at the hands of Dundee United last week.
They head into the lunchtime clash at East End Park four points adrift of Celtic in the championship and knowing they have no option but to remain within touching distance of their Old Firm rivals.
McCoist said: "We have to keep asking questions and keep winning games.
"Everybody at our club knows the importance of that.
"It's a massive game for us on Saturday for a number of reasons, coming back off the defeat in the cup and having to maintain our league challenge." Despite the loss to United in front of an Ibrox crowd of less than 18,000, who jeered the team off the park at half-time and full-time, McCoist insists the mood in the camp is good ahead of the clash with the Pars.
He said: "There is disappointment when you lose a game but we've had a couple of good meetings and the training sessions have been excellent.
"The boys know what's required, they know they have to win games.
"We have to do everything we can to retain our championship, which is going to be very difficult.
"Celtic had a great result again the other night and that doesn't make it any easier, that's for sure." Rangers have received a double boost, with defender Kirk Broadfoot and striker Kane Hemmings both returning from injury and in the squad.
Dunfermline vs Rangers
Last modified 14:22 11/02/12
Four-star show from Gers Lee McCulloch grabbed his first goal of the season as Rangers fought back from behind to claim a 4-1 win and deny Dunfermline their first home victory of the campaign in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.
McCulloch played as a striker earlier in his career and delivered the goods after starting up front at East End Park, as Daniel Cousin - set for a return to Ibrox - looked on from the stand.
McCulloch struck after David Healy cancelled out Andy Kirk's shock opener and Sone Aluko and Salim Kerkar then added a goal apiece in the second half to earn Rangers all three points.
Rangers made one change from the side who crashed out of the William Hill Scottish Cup to Dundee United last week for the clash with the Pars.
Mervan Celik - who lasted just 45 minutes of his first start - was dropped to the bench and McCulloch was drafted into the starting line-up.
Dunfermline were without on loan Rangers midfielder Kyle Hutton, while Iain Turner failed to recover from injury meaning Chris Smith was again in goal.
It was McCulloch who had the first real chance when he collected from Healy and saw an early effort from close range blocked.
But the home side could have taken the lead when David Graham burst through on goal only to see his shot crash off the post, before Liam Buchanan's rebound effort was blocked by goalkeeper Allan McGregor.
Dunfermline were celebrating with 16 minutes gone though when Paddy Boyle's deep cross from the left found Kirk at the back post and he slotted home.
Rangers were back on level terms within eight minutes when Maurice Edu saw his shot blocked by the goalkeeper after a one-two with McCulloch, and Healy pounced to rifle the loose ball into the back of the net.
The Scottish champions were threatening again when skipper Steven Davis had a go and his shot bounced onto the crossbar and over.
The visitors continued to press for a second goal and a Davis corner eventually broke for Carlos Bocanegra but his volley was well off target.
The pressure paid off after 39 minutes when a Davis free-kick found Bocanegra and he teed up the shot for McCulloch to lash home his first goal of the season.
McCulloch could have added to his tally shortly after the restart when he met a Healy cross and nodded just over.
Rangers made a double change with just over an hour gone when Kirk Broadfoot - back from injury - and Celik were thrown into the action for Kyle Bartley and Healy.
Rangers increased their lead further after 70 minutes when Aluko raced onto a pass from McCulloch and sent an unstoppable left-foot shot into the top corner from 25 yards.
The winger then came to the rescue at the other end when he cleared an Alex Keddie header off the line.
Celik could have added his own name to the scoresheet with a swerving effort that dipped just over the crossbar.
