No changes for Gills Andy Hessenthaler may name an unchanged Gillingham line-up for a third successive match at home to promotion-chasing Torquay.

The Gills boss was left encouraged by his side's display in Tuesday's goalless draw against Rotherham, a point which ended the club's run of five straight league defeats.

Charlie Lee may come into Hessenthaler's thoughts having returned from his knee injury, playing an hour in a friendly at the club's training ground in midweek.

Otherwise, the Kent outfit are not expected to have any new injury or suspension problems to contend with.

On-loan West Ham midfielder Oliver Lee continues to wait for his full debut having stepped off the bench against the Millers.

Torquay go into the game having seen their seven-match winless run brought to an end with a shock 1-0 home reverse to Bradford last weekend, although the Gulls can still claim to have won their last four matches on the road.

Torquay midfielder Damon Lathrope is certain to miss the trip.

The 22-year-old suffered ankle ligament damage in a 1-0 victory over Cheltenham and the npower League Two clash at Priestfield will come too soon for him.

Gulls boss Martin Ling could call on striker Rene Howe to reinvigorate his starting XI after a run of seven straight league victories came to an abrupt end with a 2-1 home defeat to Bradford last week.

Defender Angus McDonald was an unused substitute against the Bantams but could graduate from the bench to make his debut against the Gills.

Ling is keeping one eye on the loan market as he looks to bolster his squad for a promotion push, telling the Herald Express: "I've got a list of players I'm working through.

Gills back to winning ways Gillingham ended a run of seven games without victory as second-half goals from Simon King and Danny Kedwell saw them beat play-off rivals Torquay 2-0 at the Priestfield.

Torquay winger Danny Stevens rattled the woodwork inside 90 seconds, cutting in from the left and looping a right-foot effort on to far post.

Gills midfielder Jack Payne then saw a goalbound drive deflected wide by a great tackle from Lee Mansell, before Curtis Weston played in Jo Kuffour but Torquay scrambled clear.

Weston's free-kick from the right was headed over by the Kuffour, while Torquay's Mark Ellis also squandered a chance.
