Histon 1-2 Swansea: El Toro wipes out Minnows
Published 00:00 14/01/09 By By Mike Walters
Histon's part - timers were gored by El Toro as Gorka Pintado hit the bull's eye on a night of atonement for Swansea.
Twelve months ago Roberto Martinez's ugly ducklings were humiliated at Havant and Waterlooville - but Pintado ensured there was never likely to be any repeat, even if he did miss a penalty.
A s100,000 snip from Spanish second division club Granada, he scored a spectacular opening goal and helped to make the second for Guillem Bauza as the Swans defused a classic booby-trap.
Boss Martinez said: "I'm proud of the players. They showed responsibility and maturity."
Josh Simpson's reply six minutes from time ensured a rousing finish. Manager Steve Fallon said: "It's been a fantastic ride and now the big prize - promotion to the Football League - has to be won."
