Georgios Samaras was a monster flop at Manchester City but the Greek striker can do no wrong in Scotland.
Samaras notched his second double in successive league games as Celtic whipped Kilmarnock 3-1 yesterday.
The Greek netted a late penalty after adding to Shaun Maloney's opener with a superb solo goal.
He picked up the ball in his own half, outpaced Frazer Wright and cut inside to finish with aplomb.
"It was a good run and good finish," the 23-year-old said. "It's the second week I am close to a hat-trick, but I hope it will come in the next game.
"These goals are giving me more confidence."
Goals from Steven Davis and Nacho Novo helped Rangers beat Motherwell 2-1 to stay top of the table.
