Grady forced to turn to loan market Morton manager James Grady is working desperately to add to his squad ahead of the home clash against Partick Thistle in order to cope with the club's crippling injury crisis.
Grady is hopeful of bringing in one or two loan signings but is still waiting to hear back from clubs.
He said: "We were at a game on Tuesday and got to watch some players, but it is up to the clubs to decide what they want to do. There are a number of players we have asked about and we are just waiting to hear back." Grady confirmed that Peter Weatherson has trained this week along with Kevin Finlayson, who picked up a hamstring strain in the 4-1 defeat to Inverness last weekend.
However, Allan Jenkins, Brian Graham, Alex Walker, Stevie Masterton and Dominic Shimmin are all out.
Asked if this was the worst injury crisis he had experienced in his career, Grady added: "I think so. We are down to 12 players plus me and, while I'm fit to play, I don't want to. We are actually fairly well covered for strikers, it is other positions that are a priority." Partick Thistle have the opportunity to get back to winning ways with the trip to Greenock.
Stevie Lovell has now received clearance while the arrival of Jamie Adams on loan from Kilmarnock means there will be two new faces added to the squad that were downed 2-1 by Raith last weekend.
But whether they feature is a decision that will be made by manager Ian McCall.
He said: "There have been a few players not feeling 100% this week and a few others carrying minor knocks but I will have a full squad to select from ahead of Saturday's game.
Morton vs Partick
Last modified 18:42 07/11/09
Thistle back to winning ways Partick racked up only their second away victory of the season with a 2-0 triumph over Morton.
Thistle had to wait until the 32nd minute before they carved open their first effort, with Liam Buchanan shooting just wide of the far post after a perfectly weighed flick from Simon Donnelly.
Donnelly himself thought he had opened the scoring just minutes later when he sent the ball goalwards after Morton goalkeeper Colin Stewart had spilled, but his effort was spectacularly cleared off the line by David MacGregor.
Morton, however, should have edged in front just before the interval but Jonathan Tuffey saved well from Brian Wake after he had burst through from the left.
Despite all their pressure, the Jags took the lead in the 53rd minute when Donnelly's throughball found David Rowson, who drew Stewart out and his cut-back was tapped into the empty net by Buchanan.
