Davies to select from same squad Boss Billy Davies will choose from an unchanged squad when play-off-bound Nottingham Forest conclude their home fixtures against already-relegated Plymouth.

Davies rang the changes at Blackpool last weekend, making five alterations to his starting line-up as he sought to give his fringe players some valuable match practice in preparation for the play-offs.

Forward Joe Garner was one of them and he will be hoping to keep his place after scoring in the 3-1 defeat at Bloomfield Road.

Full-back Chris Gunter, midfielder Radoslaw Majewski and strikers Dexter Blackstock and Robert Earnshaw are pushing for recalls.

The Reds will again be without captain Paul McKenna (knee) and defender Julian Bennett, who is continuing his comeback from long-term injury problems.

Plymouth`s top scorer Jamie Mackie is an injury doubt.

The eight-goal striker is struggling to overcome a calf injury for the club`s first game since relegation was confirmed following the 2-0 home defeat by Newcastle on Monday.

Skipper Carl Fletcher may also miss out with a knee injury so Chris Clark, an unused substitute against the Magpies, or fit-again Luke Summerfield could step in.

On-loan Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale is set to play his last game before returning to his parent club at the end of his three-month loan spell.

                                                    Daily Mirror match report

Billy Davies has his eye on the Championship play-off final – but there is another date that could have repercussions for Forest.

Davies is on a mission to end Forest’s 11-year exile from the Premier League, but cannot offer any guarantees he will stay beyond the summer.

The Forest boss will have showdown talks with his board at the end of the season, whatever happens in the white-knuckle ride of the play-offs.

He has a list of gripes he wants sorting out before he decides whether to remain in charge – even if Forest are promoted.

He wants David Pleat’s transfer acquisitions committee scrapped and major funds if promotion is achieved.

Davies said: “No matter what division this club is in, it will have no bearing on my decision.

“I will sit down with my advisors and look at my staff, my players and many people at this club.

“I’m also going to decide how to move this club forward – if it can be moved forward.”

This routine romp over relegated Plymouth saw Forest rack up their 20th game unbeaten at home.

The win guarantees home advantage in the second leg of their semi-final and was never in doubt after Robert Earnshaw’s 15th goal of the season.

A Bondz N’Gala own goal extended Forest’s lead and Paul Anderson sealed victory – and Plymouth’s 26th defeat of a sorry season.

Plymouth boss Paul Mariner warned there will be economies at the club this summer.

He said: “We’re going to lose money after going down so we have to cut our cloth accordingly. Some players have to go because of the financial burden.”
