Fulham manager Roy Hodgson expects Bobby Zamora to reject a move to Hull City.
Hodgson had hoped to strengthen by signing Spurs-bound Peter Crouch, and is now desperate to hang on to Zamora.
"We had an offer from Hull and let him to speak to them," said Hodgson. "But I think he's staying with us - I certainly want him to."
Zamora scored twice and Erik Nevland added another as Fulham took a 3-0 half-time lead.
Hodgson, mindful of Thursday's Europa League clash, rang the changes for the second half and Posh hit back, with a goal from Aaron McLean and a double from George Boyd.
