                                                    Team news

No new injury concerns Rochdale boss John Coleman has no new injury worries for the visit of Notts County.

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro is set to remain on the sidelines after picking up a groin problem during his recovery from a hamstring injury.

The striker may be the only blemish on John Coleman's squad, with centre-back Kevin Amankwaah expected to recover from a minor knock that forced him from the field in the closing stages of Saturday's 0-0 draw at Colchester.

Dean Holdon replaced Amankwaah and is ready to deputise if needed, but the former Swindon man has formed an impressive pairing with on-loan Burnley defender Kevin Long in recent weeks, with Dale conceding just twice in five games under Coleman.

Victory over Notts County would be a third consecutive triumph at Spotland for relegation-threatened Rochdale following successes against Bury and Bournemouth.

Alan Sheehan is a doubt for Keith Curle's first away game as Notts County manager at Rochdale.

Sheehan was a late withdrawal from the squad to face Chesterfield on Saturday after suffering an injury shortly before kick-off.

The full-back is being monitored by the club's medical staff and a late decision will be made on his fitness.

Jonathan Forte will be hoping to force his way back into the starting line-up after climbing off the bench to score the winning goal against Chesterfield.

Magpies march on Notts County made it three 1-0 wins from their three games under new boss Keith Curle with victory over lowly Rochdale at Spotland.

Hamza Bencherif's goal at the end of the first half divided the teams, though the Magpies were good value for the win as they created the better openings and denied the hosts a sniff of a chance.

The only blot on their copybook was the sending off of substitute Lee Hughes in the 90th minute for a studs-up challenge on Rochdale goalkeeper Peter Kurucz.

They edged ahead at the end of a low key first half when Bencherif met Julian Kelly's cross with a powerful downward header. It was no more than the visitors deserved, for they carried far more threat going forward than the hosts in the opening 45 minutes.

Alan Judge was close to an early opener after bursting through the hosts' rearguard in the opening minutes and the same player was frustrated later in the half when Dale defender Dean Holden blocked his goalbound effort.

Rochdale's only effort of note in the first half fell to Gary Jones. Nicky Adams picked out his run into the area but the delivery forced him wide and the skipper was unable to squeeze the ball beyond Magpies keeper Stuart Nelson.
