Lathrope set for Gulls absence Torquay are likely to be without Damon Lathrope for the visit of Bradford in npower League Two on Saturday.

Midfielder Lathrope picked up an ankle injury blocking a shot during the 1-0 victory at Cheltenham in midweek and is a major doubt for Gulls manager Martin Ling this weekend.

Chris McPhee is set to replace the 22-year-old in the middle of the park, but otherwise Ling has no injury or suspension worries as he looks to lead his side to their eighth successive league victory.

Rene Howe will be hoping to win back his place up front from Taiwo Atieno, while defender Angus McDonald is still waiting for his debut after signing on loan from Reading until the end of the season.

McDonald has been an unused substitute in each of Torquay's last two matches.

Bradford striker James Hanson is doubtful after sustaining a groin injury in midweek.

Hanson was forced out of the midweek home draw with Port Vale and if he fails to make it manager Phil Parkinson must choose two from Ross Hannah, Nahki Wells and Deane Smalley to start up front.

But Parkinson will be boosted by the return of club skipper Simon Ramsden, who stepped off the substitutes' bench in midweek after being sidelined since New Year's Eve with a broken toe.

Another long-term absentee, midfielder Michael Flynn, could make his first appearance of the year. He was named as an unused substitute against Vale after being ruled out since mid-December with gastroenteritis.

Luke Oliver returned to the side on Tuesday night after a hamstring injury and should continue in central defence.

Bradford, just four points above the relegation zone, have won just once away in the league this season and have lost their last three on the road.

Gulls wings clipped by Bantams Bradford gained only their second away win of the season with a 2-1 victory over high-flying Torquay at Plainmoor.

Phil Parkinson's Bantams battled back from a 1-0 deficit thanks to two goals in two minutes.

Torquay took the lead in the 12th minute when Eunan O'Kane crossed from the right and Danny Stevens swept the ball home first time from the edge of the box and into the far corner.

But Bradford rallied, Kyel Reid crossed from the left during a goalmouth scramble and striker Craig Fagan was able to turn the ball in from six yards out to make it 1-1 in the 17th minute.

Two minutes later Reid was again heavily involved. He exchanged passes with Fagan on the edge of the 18-yard box before latching onto a return pass and smashing the ball home from just inside the area.
