Gunes gunning for goal glut Trabzonspor coach Senol Gunes has vowed to go all out to claim a first-leg advantage over PSV Eindhoven when the two teams meet in the last 32 of the Europa League.

Gunes' men were unfortunate to miss out on qualifying for the next stage of the Champions League despite their heroics against Inter Milan, and Gunes knows PSV provide another major test.

Gunes said: "Both teams are creative but we want to leave the game with a scoring advantage. PSV are a young, attacking team, and they will be a very difficult team to beat." The home side go into the game in good form after winning four of their last five in the Turkish Super Lig, which has been enough to move them up to fourth spot, six points off leaders Fenerbahce.

Most impressive has been Gunes' side's goalscoring record with 14 goals in their last five games, the latest of which saw top scorer Burak Yilmaz hit two in a 4-1 win over Gaziantepspor on Friday.

However Trabzonspor come up against a PSV side who are unbeaten in 12 games in all competitions and currently sit top of the Dutch Eredivisie on goal difference from rivals AZ Alkmaar.

PSV coach Fred Rutten has received a major boost with the news that striker Georginio Wijnaldum will be back after missing last Sunday's 4-1 win over De Graafschap with a head injury.

However Rutten is definitely without Zakaria Labyad who was injured in the same game and has not travelled to Turkey as part of the PSV coach's youthful-looking 21-man squad.

PSV blazed through the Europa League group stages with five wins from their six games. They were only denied a 100 per cent qualifying record by a dramatic 3-3 draw at home to Hapoel Tel Aviv in November.

Quick-fire double puts PSV in control Two quick goals ensured PSV Eindhoven claimed a 2-1 away win to give them control of their Europa League last-32 tie with Trabzonspor.

Tim Matavz and Ola Toivonen stunned the home side with strikes inside the first 12 minutes.

Trabzonspor pulled a goal back through Olcan Adin on the half-hour and, while they controlled possession for long periods, their horror start proved costly as they failed to find a leveller.

PSV were greeted by a wall of noise from the home fans but the visitors soon sucked the life out of the intimidating atmosphere with their early brace.

PSV goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson did have to negotiate a tricky moment in the second minute when he just kept out a swerving drive from Burak Yilmaz.

But PSV were soon ahead thanks to a stunning strike from Matavz after six minutes as he turned on the edge of the area before arrowing a shot into the top-left corner.

The Trabzonspor fans were then left stunned when PSV went 2-0 ahead with just 12 minutes on the clock.

Toivonen nipped in front of his marker to meet Dries Mertens' pass before neatly finishing into the far corner.

It could have been even better for PSV as the dangerous Mertens forced a couple of hacked clearances from his corners while goalkeeper Tolga Zengin made an sharp save to deny Toivonen.

There was further bad news for Trabzonspor when Serkan Balci was booked to rule him out of the second leg.

The hosts were in desperate need of inspiration and Adin provided it with a fine solo goal after 33 minutes.

The midfielder burst past a defender before prodding past an onrushing Isaksson to score.

It helped to turn the game around, with PSV now content to sit deep, but Trabzonspor's hopes of a leveller were undermined by their anxiousness to get the ball forward.

The hosts could have conceded a third when Jeremain Lens scooped over, while at the other end Yilmaz thrashed wildly over.

As the game drew on Trabzonspor's heads started to drop and they were lucky not to suffer a bigger defeat as substitute Georgino Wijnaldum, Lens and Toivonen all failed to hit the target late on.
