New faces for Wanderers Wycombe will be without defender Dave Winfield when they host Hartlepool.

Winfield was booked shortly after half-time during the 2-0 defeat at Walsall last weekend - the 23-year-old's 10th yellow card of the campaign, which carries an automatic two-match suspension.

A calf injury is set to rule James Harper out of the final game of his loan spell at Wanderers after five appearances for the Hull midfielder in his month-long stay at Adams Park.

It was perhaps with Harper's absence and likely return to the Tigers in mind that boss Gary Waddock strengthened his midfield options this week with the signings of Craig Eastmond and Chris Hackett.

Both players are expected to go straight into the squad, while young striker Matt McClure, 20, staked his claim for a start with a hat-trick for the reserves this week.

Hartlepool midfielder Gary Liddle appears doubtful for Saturday's clash due to a calf injury.

Liddle sustained a knock in last week's win over Notts County and was replaced by defender Steve Haslam, so manager Neale Cooper may have to tinker with his line-up.

Cooper has no other new injury or suspension problems but striker James Poole is still unavailable.

Poole has not featured since Boxing Day due to a hamstring injury and although he returned to full training this week, Saturday will come too soon.

Strikers Colin Nish and Adam Boyd are pushing for a place in the starting line-up but teenager Luke James is expected to resume his partnership with James Brown up front.

Five-star Chairboys leave Pools standing Debutant Paul Hayes struck twice as Wycombe ran riot against Hartlepool to climb off the bottom of the League One table with a 5-0 win.

Hayes and Gary Doherty are both on loan from top-of-the-table Charlton and they were both on the scoresheet along with Stuart Beavon in a stunning first-half display.

Hayes and Beavon both doubled their tallies after the interval as Pools' poor run without an away win in 2012 continued.

Chairboys boss Gary Waddock gave starts to four new signings and it only took Hayes five minutes to open his account, poking home after Scott Flinders parried his initial effort.

Six minutes later and Doherty doubled the lead, climbing highest to head home Anthony McNamee's corner.

Beavon then slotted his 15th goal of the season just before the break after woeful defending from the visitors.
