£24m Joleon Lescott on brink of Manchester City move as Everton turn to Middlesbrough's Robert Huth

Joleon Lescott is poised to become the latest expensive addition to the Manchester City revolution after Everton agreed to end what has been an acrimonious transfer saga by accepting a £24m bid for the defender.
Lescott, 27, passed a medical at a private hospital in Manchester today and will now put pen to paper on a five-year deal which is set to earn him £90,000 a week.
Everton manager David Moyes has branded City’s conduct throughout the affair as “disgusting” and expressed his anger Mark Hughes for failing to contact him personally over his pursuit of the England defender.
But with just eight days left until the transfer window closes David Moyes will waste no time in finding a replacement for Lescott.
While a £9 million move for Stoke City's Ryan Shawcross has been mooted, Middlesbrough's Robert Huth has emerged as a leading contender to fill the void at the back, which has seen the Blues succumb to back-to-back Premier League defeats.
Everton are lining up a £5m for the 6ft 3in Huth, who spent four years at Chelsea before joining Boro in 2006.
Also on Moyes's radar is Lokomotiv Moscow star Diniyar Bilyaletdinov. The gifted 24-year-old has won 24 caps for Russia and would cost up to £10m.
