Fergie's 25 years at United: What the other managers have to say

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson reaches the remarkable milestone of 25 years in charge at the cub this weekend.
Here, his fellow Premier League bosses - and one from the Championship with very close links to Fergie - reflect on his achievement...
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "All you can say is that is is remarkable through the quality and the consistency. It is exceptional as well because I don't know anybody at this level who has done 25 years at the top level with the same club. Certainly never anybody will do it again."
Everton's David Moyes: "To stay 25 years at one club, especially one like United, is unbelievable. We are saying '25 years' as though it is something very easy. To be at that club for that long and have the achievements he has had is something which I don't think will ever be done again."
Norwich boss Paul Lambert: “I would love to sit down with him with a bottle of wine one day and just ask him how he has managed to carry on for 25 years. I would really love to know the secret. Take it from me, no other manager will ever do what he has done, for so long. No one will even come close to repeating what he has done, unless someone really special comes along.”
Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish: “He has done magnificently as a manager. Even that recent Man City defeat, he will have dealt with it early doors and they bounced back with a strong performance. Winning their next few matches was typical.”
Blackburn boss Steve Kean: “I have known Sir Alex for a lot of years. He is all about his work ethic. No matter how long he has been in the game and how long he has been at Manchester United the intensity at which he works and intensity he demands from his players is phenomenal.”
Sunderland's Steve Bruce: “If you couldn’t stand up to him and his demands, and many a player couldn’t, then you couldn’t play for Manchester United and meet the demands he wanted. I cannot talk about him now, but I’m sure people like Nani and Ronaldo have had the hairdryer as well. We just accepted it, it was the way it was but the great thing about it is that once it was done, it was done.”
Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson: “He won’t mind me saying this -- my mother brought us up, he wasn’t there a lot because he worked hard. I have to say there’s no way he would have the success he has without my mother -- there is no doubt about that. His determination and desire to keep on churning out teams is the thing that’s made him different to anyone else. He still gets up early, gets into work early, probably before most people.”
