Sir Alex Ferguson has slammed plans to start next season earlier than normal in a bid to boost England's chances of winning the 2010 World Cup.
England boss Fabio Capello wants as much time as possible with his players ahead of the finals in South Africa.
But Fergie yesterday rubbished the proposal to kick-off on August 8, claiming players would have too short a break next summer.
"There are internationals as late as June 10, you can't have it both ways," he said.
