Alex Pearce pens long-term Reading deal

Reading defender Alex Pearce has signed a bumper new three-and-a-half year contract keeping him at the Madejski Stadium until 2013.

Centre back Pearce, 21, has made 46 appearances for Reading after coming through their youth academy.

Pearce said: "Reading is a fantastic club with high ambitions and I am very pleased to be part of it. A new contract is nice recognition for the hard work I have put in."
