Ambitious Notts County target Manchester City striker

Notts County supremo Sven Goran Eriksson is making a daring late move to sign striker Benjani from his old club Manchester City - in a club record deal.
The former City chief rates the hard-working Zimbabwean highly and stepped into the race yesterday as he was talking to Hull City, Portsmouth and Blackburn about a move.
Benjani signed for Eriksson from Portsmouth in January 2008 and scored the winner in the Manchester derby on his debut, but he was dogged by a thigh injury that made him a fringe man when Mark Hughes took over.
Eriksson thinks Benjani's physical style and commitment would get Ciounty out of League One at the first time of asking and he is willing to buy him on a pay-as-you-play basis.
Benjani could even be offered more wages by County than he could pick up at Hull, Pompey or Rovers. He is set to make his decision on where to go today.
