Anton Ferdinand's £8m move to Sunderland has brother Rio's blessing

Roy Keane hopes to complete the £8million signing of Anton Ferdinand today - but only after he has proved his fitness with a tough medical.

And Ferdinand has been given the seal of approval to relaunch his career by his brother Rio, who played under the captaincy of Keane while at Manchester United.

It is understood Rio is all for his brother moving away from London under Keane's tutelage.

And Ferdinand will undergo tests on Wearside today to ensure he is recovering from the hamstring injury which has stalled his season so far.
