Arsenal are planning to launch a £23million bid for Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina, according to reports in Saturdays papers.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is desperate to sign a new goalkeeper with worries over last season's No 1 Manuel Almunia and back-up Lukasz Fabianski.
Wenger was thought to be chasing Fulham's Mark Schwarzer as a short term solution but is now reported to have turned his attentions to Liverpool star Reina.
The Spanish stopper, who has just this week returned to pre-season training following his World Cup success with Spain, joined Liverpool in 2005 from Villarael for £6m and in April committed his future to the Anfield club by signing a new six-year contract.
