Fabregas will stay for FIVE more years, roars Wenger

Defiant Arsene Wenger last night promised Cesc Fabregas will be his captain next season – and insisted he must stay for five more years.
Fabregas has been the subject of a summer-long transfer saga as Barcelona have openly tried to unsettle him and had a £30million bid turned down.
The Spain World Cup winner is believed to want to move to Barca, but the Arsenal boss says Fabregas is still fully committed to the club and urged the Spanish side to start showing some “respect”.
Wenger said: “I always said Cesc Fabregas will be our captain next year and that we want to keep him. Despite all the speculation last season and the whole summer, nothing has changed.
“We do not negotiate with Barcelona. If I want to buy a house and you don’t want to sell, we do not negotiate.
“He has always said he’s committed to the club and he has always shown it. The best way to show you’re committed is you give your best when you walk on the football pitch and he has always done that.
“Look at the length of his contract and you will see he has five or six years to go. When you sign a contract it means we are committed to a player to pay him and keep him no matter what happens.
“I believe Arsenal deserves respect. If (Barcelona) make some statements and jokes, we can do the same but I believe we have to live with that. We do not have to complain too much.
“There’s a great attitude and spirit in the squad and Cesc Fabregas can help us achieve these targets. He’s 23, and has just won the World Cup.
“I believe he will grow in authority again for next season. The biggest achievement for him now is to help us win the championship.”
Wenger said Fabregas will report for Thursday’s photocall and the open training session for 10,000 members. He added: “I have known players who want to leave then they don’t. It is always in the interests of the player to perform.”
