Ashley Cole and Javier Mascherano rapped by players' union

Ashley Cole and Javier Mascherano were named and shamed by their own union as they were told:
"Players must never do what you did." The bad boys will lock horns in tomorrow's Champions League semifinal second leg at Stamford Bridge with the rap from PFA chairman Chris Powell still ringing in their ears. The former England left-back stood up at the PFA's annual dinner to demand respect for officials.
The veteran said: "Ashley Cole's stand-off with Mike Riley and then Javier Mascherano's running battle with Steve Bennett showed a lack of respect.
That reflects a lack of respect in society.
"We are asking members to cut out reckless tackling, the simulation and surrounding of referees.
"Let's show respect and that we can play and enjoy the game the way it should be enjoyed. What happened was a watershed moment."
