Carlo Ancelotti welcomed Ashley Cole back into the Chelsea fold on Tuesday following his insistence that the England defender will not be sold to Real Madrid.
The 29-year-old left-back has been targeted by Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, who acrimoniously poached him from Arsenal four years ago.
Following the breakdown of his marriage to singer Cheryl Tweedy and the fall-out which resulted in public anger directed towards him, speculation has grown that he would be keen on moving to Spain.
But Cole was in good spirits yesterday as he reported back from his summer holidays to the Chelsea's HQ in Cobham, Surrey yesterday.
The England left-back underwent a double training session with his team-mates and the club maintained he did not hold talks with Ancelotti regarding Real Madrid.
Indeed, it was only last week that Ancelotti insisted he was so confident that Cole wanted to stay that he did not feel the need to speak to the full-back about his future.
The Chelsea boss said: "I don't need to talk to him. He is happy to stay at Chelsea.
"He never said he wanted to go. Ashley is a Chelsea player and nobody wants to sell him. We want to keep him in our squad.
"I am 100 per cent sure he will be at Chelsea this season. I consider him to be the best player in his position in the world. There is no chance he will go."
Chelsea were last night maintaining their stance that Cole is not for sale and that they will not be entertaining any offers for him.
