Aston Villa get £40million for Big Four push

Randy Lerner has poured millions of his own money into Aston Villa to boost the club's top-four push - and has promised manager Martin O'Neill more cash to bag a top striker in January.
Villa's American chairman Lerner, 46, paid £22million into the club's HSBC account in October under 'Reform Acquisitions Limited', which Lerner used to buy Villa in 2006.
Lerner's funds helped cover a £50m summer spending spree on James Milner, Steve Sidwell, Carlos Cuellar, Curtis Davies and Brad Friedel.
Lerner has also pledged to provide O'Neill with up to £18m in January to secure an international targetman.
Top of the wish-list is thought to be Blackburn hitman Roque Santa Cruz and Wigan's out-of-contract England forward Emile Heskey.
