Aston Villa move for Spurs keeper Paul Robinson

Aston Villa are ready to offer England outcast Paul Robinson a chance to revive his career.

Villa are expected to open talks with Spurs goalkeeper Robinson, 28, in the next 48 hours to discuss a £4million switch.

He is keen to move after falling out with Tottenham manager Juande Ramos and losing his England place following a string of below-par performances.

Villa boss Martin O'Neill hopes to have Robinson on board soon, as their first Intertoto Cup game is only three weeks away.
