Barry Ferguson admits he would consider Scotland return

Barry Ferguson would consider returning to international football if he was selected by the new Scotland boss.
The Scottish Football Association handed both Ferguson and Allan McGregor lifetime bans back in April after they were spotted flicking V-signs at photographers while on the subs bench for a World Cup qualifier with Iceland.
That incident followed a late-night drinking session in the wake of an earlier defeat to Holland.
But the SFA have opened the door for a potential return following the sacking of George Burley, should his successor select Ferguson.
“It was the SFA that called time on my Scotland career,” said Ferguson. “The way it ended was shambolic, but that was then.
“If I do get asked, it’s something I’d need to sit down and have a long hard think about it."
However, club manager Alex McLeish has warned 31-year-old Ferguson that a return to the international fold could jeopardise his place in the Birmingham team.
The former Rangers player added: “I need to see how things develop – there’s a lot of things that happened. If I do get asked, I need to sit down and talk it through with my family and obviously the manager.”
