Bayern Munich defender arrested over fire at his home

Bayern Munich defender Breno has been arrested after a fire which damaged his home.

The Brazilian is being held on suspicion of grave arson, after the blaze broke out in the early hours of last Wednesday morning.

The 21-year-old was alone in the house at the time and managed to escape, but did require hospital treatment for smoke inhalation.

A statement by Bayern Munich read: "We are surprised by the new situation that Breno will now be investigated. As we do not have any further information we cannot make any other comment."

Bayern Munich face Manchester City in the Champions League tomorrow night.
