Birmingham boss McLeish targets Rangers duo

Alex McLeish will launch a double raid on Scotish champions Rangers for Steven Davis and Kris Boyd.

The Birmingham boss is preparing to bring Davis back to the Second City with a £3million bid in the New Year.

Northern Ireland international Davis began his career at Aston Villa and McLeish is ready to test cash-strapped Rangers' resolve to keep him.

And striker Boyd is another target under consideration for Big 'Eck, who is preparing a substantial attack on the January sales.

Boyd is out of contract this summer and can speak to other clubs in January - but McLeish is weighing up a £1m cut-price deal to bring him to St. Andrew's
