Birmingham owner Carson Yeung tries to block £1m Karren Brady pay-out

Under-fire Karren Brady has been dealt another blow and stands to lose up to £1million as Carson Yeung tries to revoke her leaving package at Birmingham.
Former MD Brady, 40, is already reeling following a savage attack by ex-Brum boss Steve Bruce on his return to St Andrews at the weekend.
And now the club's new owner Yeung, a Hong Kong tycoon, has had his legal team contact Brady in a bid to overturn her controversial 'golden goodbye'.
Yeung is livid at the decision by City's outgoing board to agree in her contract to £1m in bonuses plus an astonishing list of perks on her exit.
She is due 12 months' salary worth £179,372 , a bonus of £520,000 for David Sullivan and the Gold brothers selling their shares and another bonus of £260,000 for City being in the Premier League.
Brady also expects use of a club car, mobile phone, health insurance and an executive box at St Andrews for 12 months after leaving.
But Yeung's lawyers, who have just completed his £80m takeover, have written to Brady demanding the car and phone are returned immediately.
And City's new regime are pouring over club accounts and paperwork in a bid to find evidence of any wrongdoing so they can accuse Brady to be in breach of her contract.
A Birmingham spokesperson said: "The matter is in the hands of our lawyers."
Brady insists her pay-off, finalised in her contract over a year ago, is commensurate with a top executive's settlement after 16 years with a leading PLC company.
But her terms have caused uproar since Mirrorsport's revelation on October 3 after seeing the club's takeover recommendation document sent to BCFC shareholders.
Employment lawyer and Brum fan Richard Barker, who writes for Singing The Blues website, said: "Everyone was looking forward to a clean break after the takeover.
"It was meant to be a new era but we have just had Bruce criticising Brady and now there is this over her contract.
"I am not surprised someone in her position is getting a pay-off but some of the perks is what people do not get because she has continued to tie herself to the club after leaving.
"She is not a stupid person and she may well be entitled to this.
"I hope it is not something we pursue only to end up with egg on our faces."
