Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce is flying in French star Camel Meriem for a second look this week - as he prepares to revamp his Rovers squad.
Allardyce wants to see the former Monaco midfielder in action ahead of a potential contract offer, with a private game set up to give him a better guide about his talent.
Meriem was at Rovers last month but picked up a knee injury and will have recovered in time to give him the chance to impress Allardyce.
Rovers want to bring in a handful of new faces to add to their group, with a couple likely to leave in a hectic window, and free transfer Meriem may fit neatly into his place.
Meriem has been offered a deal with Sochaux but is holding out for a shot at the Premier League - with bargain-hunting Allardyce set to give him an answer in the next few days.
