Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce will move for Austrian scoring sensation Marc Janko - if Roque Santa Cruz gets his dream move to Manchester City.
Allardyce is ready to swoop for the 6ft 5i Red Bull Salzburg star who has already scored 34 goals this season, including five hat-tricks.
The 25-year-old was lined up by former Rovers boss Paul Ince and Allardyce is happy to go on the scouting reports and make a bid of about £4million. Rovers are in talks with Janko's agent, with Austrian sources revealing he was in England yesterday to discuss terms.
Red Bull are a wealthy club and do not want to lose their top marksman but Janko has said he fancies a move to England.
Allardyce, who hopes to clear £15m from the sale of Santa Cruz, is also chasing Marseille defender Gael Givet and Atletico Madrid right-back Giourkas Seitaridis.
