David Dunn dreaming of heavy victory over Burnley

David Dunn, the Blackburn fan turned talisman, wants Burnley to stay in the Premier League – so that his team can carry on beating them.
The local boy who scored in Rovers’ 3-2 win when the two clubs met at Ewood Park admits he has mixed feelings about the plight of the relegation-threatened east Lancashire neighbours.
Dunn said: “A lot of my mates are Burnley fans, but you have no sympathy in football and I hope we hammer them 10-0.
“Half of me wants them to go down, the other half of me doesn’t. It’s not that I want to support them, but it’s an occasion that’s good for everyone, not just the players.
“So I want them to stay in the League, although I hope we wallop them and they finish 17th every year.
“Anybody who’s been to a Burnley-Blackburn game knows there’s something that makes it a bit special. As I’m the local boy and scored in the last game, I wouldn’t expect anything less than some stick, but that gives you a bit extra to succeed.”
Dunn expects to recover from injury after scoring both goals in Rovers’ 2-1 win against Birmingham, but won’t argue if put on the bench.
