Sam Allardyce claims Blackburn hope to beat Hull tonight in tribute to fan John Taylor who died at Saturday's match against Stoke.
The Rovers supporter was killed after he was struck on the head with a bin at the Britannia Stadium.
Allardyce claims everyone at the club is stunned by the news and extended their sympathies to Taylor's family.
The Blackburn players will wear black armbands tonight as a mark of respect and there will be a minute's silence before kick-off.
Allardyce said: "It's a hugely sad situation for John's family. It is a great tragedy that has happened, I have never heard of anything like this whatsoever in my entire life as a football man.
"Obviously as the football club that he supported our sympathies go out to his family and we will be doing our utmost on Wednesday night in terms of respect for him and a minute's silence and wearing black armbands.
"It is just a great shame that this unfortunate incident has happened, we just hope that if it helps the family in some way we get them a win and we get three very valuable points."
