Blame me and Steven Gerrard for England failures, says Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard last night made the staggering admission that he and Steven Gerrard were responsible for England's two years of nightmares.
The Chelsea midfielder is set to be reunited in the midfield battleground with Liverpool skipper Gerrard against Kazakhstan on Saturday as Fabio Capello gives the pair a final chance to prove they can work as a unit.
Gerrard is set to replace Aston Villa star Gareth Barry, and Lampard said: "If we are both honest, we haven't played as well for England as we have for our clubs, particularly over the last two seasons.
"If we had done we probably would have qualified for the Euros. It's not just being big-headed but from what we've done for our clubs and the way we play I'd like to think we could have qualified.
"We should be successful in theory and it's up to us to make it work, simple as that." Lamps and Stevie G have started 38 England matches together, 20 as the team's central duo.
Lampard added: "I'm sure there are games when it has worked - but I just can't think of any at the moment!"
