Bobby Zamora claims West Ham reneged on new contract agreement

Bobby Zamora has added to West Ham's contract controversy after claiming they promised him a new deal this summer before forcing him out.
Hammers keeper Rob Green has already slammed the club for not improving his financial terms.
And there is disquiet in the West Ham dressing room about the disparity in wages between most stars and the likes of Lucas Neill on £65,000 a week.
Now new Fulham striker Zamora, 27, has revealed he expected to stay at Upton Park after receiving a letter from the club earlier this year pledging to extend his contract.
But Barking-born Zamora, who supports the Hammers, was offloaded instead to Craven Cottage for £4.8million.
And Zamora admits feeling betrayed by the club he loves. "West Ham is my club and the team I always wanted to play for but football is a business now," said the striker who hit 40 goals in 152 games there.
"I had it in writing that they would give me a new contract but it didn't happen.
The club unfortunately changed their minds.
"They accepted the bid and that sort of says a lot and I was no longer needed.
"It must be a little unsettling for a few of the lads still there and I know Rob Green has come out and said something similar.
"It was hard for me to leave as I am a West Ham fan and love the club dearly because I had some brilliant years there.
"I was sad to leave but this is another chapter in my career and hopefully I will get a chance to play a lot more football here."
