Bolton to bid £11m for Toulouse striker Johan Elmander

Bolton boss Gary Megson will make a club record £11million bid for Toulouse striker Johan Elmander.

With Elmander below his best with Holland at Euro 2008 and his club only just avoiding relegation from the French top flight last term, Megson believes he can get them to lower their £16m valuation.

Wanderers have pledged to use the money from Nicolas Anelka's £15m transfer to Chelsea to find a fitting replacement.

Anelka is Bolton's record signing. They paid £8m to land him from Fenerbahce in August 2006.
