New signing Kris Boyd is hoping to guide Middlesbrough back into the Premier League after joining on a two-year deal from Rangers.
The 26-year-old, who is the record goalscorer in Scottish Premier League history with 164 goals, also revealed the chance to work with Boro boss Gordon Strachan played a big part in his decision.
Boyd, who scored 101 goals in 118 league starts for Rangers, told Boro's official website: "I'm just going to focus on scoring goals and helping get the team back in the Premier League. Middlesbrough is a Premier League club in terms of its set-up and that's where we all want to be."
He added: "Gordon Strachan has shown a lot of interest in signing me over a long period and that's a good feeling. I thought it was important that I was coming to a place where I felt welcome and a place where I wanted to play.
"I made the decision to leave Rangers back in January but I wanted to help them win the title first. But I knew I needed a new challenge and joining Middlesbrough gives me just that challenge. I'm looking forward to it."
