Newcastle United have appointed former Wimbledon, Luton and Nottingham Forest manager Joe Kinnear as the temporary replacement for Kevin Keegan.
His appointment comes in the wake of this morning's revelation that Terry Venables became the latest in a long list of managers to turn the job down .
Kinnear will take charge of the team until the end of October.
Newcastle's next game is against Blackburn at St James' Park tomorrow.
