Bungling Airdrie United use picture of Nazi soldiers on poppy tribute programme

Bungling Scottish club Airdrie United have apologised after using a picture of Nazi soldiers on the front of their Remembrance Day match programme.
The Second Division side thought they would delight game sponsors Network Rail by using a vintage photo of Allied troops on a train, alongside the famous poppy logo.
Instead, they selected a picture of German WW2 servicemen receiving gifts from sympathisers as they headed into battle. And Network Rail pulled out anyway.
Club secretary Ann Marie Ballantyne said: "A few people have picked up on this. It certainly was not deliberate. We were told the soldiers were Australian."
Airdrie United lost the match 1-0 to Livingston.
