Bluebirds suffering crisis of confidence, admits McNaughton

Kevin McNaughton fears a crisis of confidence is threatening to derail Cardiff’s promotion push.
The big-spending Welsh side lie well placed in second spot behind runaway Championship leaders QPR.
But a string of poor displays has seen City – rocked by injuries to strikers Craig Bellamy and Michael Chopra – win just one of the last four games. And Scottish international McNaughton admits the Bluebirds are in danger of slipping out of contention unless they rediscover their form.
“We’re just not firing on full cylinders,” he said. “We haven’t put a good performance in for a few weeks. We seem to be playing the easy option too much and it has affected our confidence.
“It doesn’t take much to fall down that table so we need to sort things out as soon as possible.”
