Cesc Fabregas has set his sights on a Champions League final showdown with Real Madrid after pledging his long-term future to Arsenal.
Fabregas, 22, started his career at Barcelona, was first taken to the Nou Camp at just nine months old and is clearly dreaming of a date with destiny against their great rivals.
Spanish midfielder Fabregas, who is out injured for Arsenal's Champions League last 16 showdown with Porto tonight, also says that being made captain has "increased my commitment" to the club.
Fabregas told Spanish TV station TVE: "I want to play in the Champions League final in Madrid and against Real. That would be the maximum for me as an Arsenal player.
"If we analyse the 16 clubs left then I believe that ten still have a chance to reach the final and we are on that list."
Arsenal have not overcome a first leg deficit in an away tie in Europe since they beat Hadjuk Split in 1978.
They will have to do it without Fabregas tonight which is a huge task for Arsenal but their midfielder is convinced they can do it as he also revealed his deep love for the club and the fans.
Fabregas said: "I have been at Arsenal for many years but I don't see myself as the only leader. We are together as a team and I rely on my team mates to help me be successful. I am no more important than my team mates.
"But I am very united to the club and to the supporters. My role as captain has increased my commitment to Arsenal and I am happy there."
Fabregas has a hamstring injury which rules him out of Porto but has a slight chance of being fit to face Hull on Saturday but is confident of definitely being fit for West Ham the following weekend.
